‘Life is short, you might as live it with great hair’. Everyone wants their hair to look great but nowadays due to lifestyle and eating habits can make it very difficult to control the frustrating hair fall. A healthy body is a favourable environment for healthy hair and to keep your body healthy you must do regular exercise. Exercising not only means going to the gym, even doing a few home exercises, jogging, running, etc. can boost your health and in turn your hair. Exercise will also make you more active and happy which can be a good thing for your hair.


One of the main causes of hair fall at a young age is stress and depression, which is very common among millennials. To reduce stress one must practise meditation to keep your mind healthy because an only healthy body is not enough. Daily practising meditation can significantly reduce stress and thus hair fall.

  • YOGA:

Yoga is a remarkable Indian contribution to the world and it has very much potential to control your hair fall. Yoga improves blood circulation and strengthens hair, so practising yoga can help you with hair fall. There are few ‘asanas’ like adho mukha svanasana, vajrasana, uttanasana, sirsasana, etc. which can have an impact on hair health along with overall wellbeing.


Indian gooseberry (Amla) is considered to be the Superfood in terms of hair care in ancient Indian texts. Indian gooseberry can be used in so many ways and is packed with rich nutrients and vitamins C which helps in making the roots strong. Eating raw Indian gooseberry, making Indian gooseberry candy, Indian gooseberry Juice or ‘murabba’ you can have Indian gooseberry in any way and it is very healthy for your hair. Not only that but making a paste from Indian gooseberry juice and lime juice and applying it on hair can improve hair strength.

  • ONION:

Onions are rich in Sulphur which can be a boon for your scalp, so directly applying onion juice on your hair will improve its strength and make it look denser. Onion has a very pungent smell so if you can bear the smell its good or else you can add almond oil in it to make it more pleasant. Keep the juice on for about two hours and then wash it with a mild shampoo, doing this once a week for about 2 to 3 months can improve your hair condition.

All the above things can help you if you are at the early stages of hair fall, but if you are facing hair fall for quite some time it is recommended to consult an expert. Also, hair loss can be caused by multiple medical conditions like thyroid or some deficiencies, etc. and it is best if you consult a doctor for perfect guidance.
